My best friend got hit by a car... Posted 10/27 by Olivia

She was walking to Sonic to see someone she knew, and when she was walking across the street a speeder hit her... This happened like two weeks ago but she told me today. (Long-distance friendship) I thank the Lord that she didn't die, but I pray that her injuries will get better.

FOr a long time i prayed that my dad would stop smoking and drinking, that his back would stop hurting him, and that he would be closer to God. One of my closest friends moved away about 8months ago and is living with his dad. They're Christians but don't go to church or anything like that, its a real stressfull situation, and he is REALLY depressed. Instead of looking to God to comfort and heal he got wasted last night. i know nothings too hard for God to fix, but i'm so worried! i don't want him screwing up his life forever. Please just say a prayer for him!!! So, PLEASE pray !!!

i went to see my dad tonight, and he seemed to be doin pretty well considering the circumstances. Apparently he had a heart attack at some poit so he went to Scott & White, and while he was there he had a couple more. So all things considered hes doing pretty well. Tomorrow they're gonna put in some kind of defibulator thing to keep his heart in working order. But keep prayin though because he still is in intensive care and still has a long way to go. thanx sam

for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Especially those in New Orleans....the kids we met last year. The people in the homeless shelter. Pray that people reach out to God and not be drawn further away. I heard one of the people being rescued off of the top of a roof say that God sent them thier rescuers......and I thought how awesome that was....that God Himself IS our rescuer!

Please be in prayer for my grandpa. Most of you know that he's had a few surgeries to remove cancerous brain tumors; today, though, he was having pain in his arms and legs, so my grandma took him to the Hillcrest, where he had a seizure in the ER. A CAT scan/MRI revealed a puddle of blood in his brain. He's now stable, but please continue to pray. Thanks!

	08/30/2005	His condition is now stable, but he's not ready to go home yet. Another CAT scan was done this morning, and I've heard no news of those results. For the most part, no news is good news. Please keep him in your prayers and pray for God's will for him and my family.

	08/04/2005	I just wanted to let you know that Mrs. Liz has been heeled from her illness. Last night before Midnight she went to be with the Lord. Please pray for her family and my mom as they struugle with the fact that she is no longer to be able to live here with us. Thanks for all the prayers but do not stop your prayers yet. Hey, friends! Man, y'all are awesome! I was wondering if you might take on the burden of prayer for people here in Colorado. I have not met very many Christians outside of my churches here. The people are amazing and searching and totally in a position for the LORD to reach them - but instead they turn to diversions and drugs and alcohol and transcendental New Age-type stuff. This is very much a burden on my heart, so I would love it if anyone could join me in petitioning the LORD about this. I can't wait to see y'all, and I love and miss y'all very much! This is a lady that works with my grandpa, and she has cancer. If she does all the keemo then she can live a couple more years but if she doesnt do keemo then she'll only live a couple months. she decided not to do the keemo. Ive been prayin for a while with my family, and apparently she had a 70 percent tumor reduction(dont know wat that means but its a good thing) so if i could get all of yall to pray too then maybe she can be fully healed...

Hey everyone! 2-day we ate at Logans Roadhouse to celebrate Caelie getting out of the hospital. She went in from 2sday to friday. She went to the doctor beacuse she wasn't feeling weel and had been really tired for a couple of weeks. When she was at the doctors office she found out that she had diabetes. Please pray for her because her blood sugar is still high even after taking her insulin. Her body is no longer producing insulin so she has to take insulin at brek and din.

Hey guys! I would appreciate it if y'all could be in prayer for my knee. Most of y'all know that i reinjured it on Monday night at the Bible Adventure. I'm going to Temple for an MRI on Friday night, and then I'll be contacted by an orthopedic surgeon. Please pray that my knee will be totally recovered by the time that I go to Baylor in August and that I will be able to keep working. Thanks!

	07/07/2005	Well, the MRI was pushed back to Tuesday, and it revealed a sprained MCL, a torn ACL, and torn lateral meniscus. I'll be having surgery the Friday after next to fix the meniscus, which is basically cartilage and it's folded kinda. Best case scenario: it can be repaired but I'll be on crutches for about 6 weeks afterward. Worst case: it can't be fixed, and the doctor removes all of it, which means that I'll be back on my feet sooner, but I'll probably have arthritis about 10 years earlier than I would have. Pray for a quick healing!
	07/16/2005	Yesterday was my surgery to fix the cartilage in my knee (aka meniscus). It turns out that it was a clean tear and that the back part of the cartilage had wedged up under my kneecap which is why I found it so hard to straighten it out or put weight on it. The doctor was able to stitch it up and suture it down as he had hoped he could. This is basically the best case scenario. Praise God for that! I am, however, in a lot of pain and taking pretty big doses of medicine which is making me drowsy. Also, my chest and throat are sore from the breathing tube. Please pray for complete healing and that I will be able to go back to work soon! Thanks!

Well, my grandpa went to MD Anderson in Houston for a check-up on his brain cancer. He's lost about 25 pounds, which is really great because he's overweight, and there is no new cancerous growth in his brain! This does not mean he's cancer free, but it does mean that this last treatment he had has either stopped or severely slowed the cancer. Also, he had to have part of his brain removed a while back to remove as much of the tumor as possible, and it is growing back and taking over the empty spot as it is supposed to. His skull is also growing together right. Thanks so much for all your prayers! My entire family thanks you!

Please continue to be in prayer for my grandpa. He's back at the hospital in Houston because of blood clots in his legs which resulted in swelling and bruise-like marks all over, and a dangerously low level of platelets, or white blood cells. Pray for GOD's will in his life and in my family's, because he is the biggest part of our big fat European mutt family. I appreciate all of your prayers more than you'll ever know, and they do work wonders!

	05/16/2005	My grandma reported today that the swelling in his legs is gone. The doctors had planned on doing a bone marrow test to find out why his platelets have been so consistently low, but today it began to increase, so praise GOD for that! We're still fighting it right now, but HE's got a plan that's better than anything we can ask or imagine!
	05/19/2005	About an hour ago, my grandma called my dad crying because my grandpa's not doing well again. Yesterday the right side of his body swelled up so that he couldn't bend his right knee, which is the only way he can walk because he doesn't have a left hip. The doctors ran a sonogram yesterday, but i don't know the results of that. Today, though, his head is swelling and the doctors are about to give him a blood transfusion. From what I gather, he may be near going to heaven, so please keep him and us in your prayers!
	05/31/2005	Your prayers are working miracles! My grandpa will be coming home on Wednesday! He's still not totally healthy, but coming home always does him good. An MRI on Thursday revealed that he has no cancer anywhere on his body! Praise GOD for that!

Looks like we'll have 13 going on the mission trip! I encourage everyone to be in prayer for this over the next couple of months. Here's how you can pray specifically: Pray for the hearts of the people, that they will be open to the transformational message of the gospel Pray for the spiritual focus and maturity of those going, that our hearts would be right and our relationship with God would be growing ever deeper as we prepare. Pray for the preparation process - that we'll be able to get everything we need done despite everyone's busy schedules. Pray for team unity in Christ as we'll be facing some primitive living conditions and hard work that can, if we're not careful, lead to frayed nerves and short fuses. Pray that we would keep a healthy vision of why we're there. Safety - There are a lot of safety precautions in place, and the missions groups down there are not having any problems, but this is still a bordertown and a foreign country, and there's a lot of crime and corruption. Even so, we know God is in control and trust ourselves to His care. The family - whoever we end of building this house for, pray that we will form relationships with them and be an encouragement to them. Pray that they would come to Christ and grow in faith after we leave. Mexican pastors - the ones in these neighborhoods have a big job as they fight crime, corruption, poverty, and false religion. Most Mexican's religion is a strange blending of Roman Catholicism and native American mysticism. It's more a part of their culture than a personal relationship with God. Church van - enough said.

As most of you know, my grandfather has had two bouts of cancer, one nearly two years ago, and another last Christmas. He just finished doing a lot of radiation and chemo to get rid of the roots of the brain tumor that was removed over Christmas. He is currently in Houston at the cancer center there for a checkup. The doctors have said that he does have another growth in his brain, about the size of a jellybean. We will find out more soon. He's really starting to get pretty discouraged and tired of doing the treatments, so please pray for him and my family. The type of brain cancer that he had typically kills the person; it's only a matter of time usually. And as far as cancer goes, this form is one of the worst ways to go because it winds up eating the whole brain so you never know what's going on and it's really hard on the family. We really appreciate your prayers!

	03/31/2005	The tumor that was found is the same as the other brain tumor, which is very bad. He will be having surgery again on this upcoming Thursday and the doctors have opted to do some sort of exploratory treatment involving a different type of chemo because the original chemo and radiation did not appear to have done anything at all.
	04/21/2005	Last Thursday, he had the initial surgery, where the doctors wound up having to take a small piece of his brain, causing him to have problems talking, understanding speech, and remembering things like names. Today he had surgery to put 3 small tubes through his brain to pump chemo in for four days straight, after which he will be coming home. He is having some health problems; his heart rate was very low but it now stabilized. Continue in prayer for him and that this type of chemo will work on the cancer. Thanks for all you do!

Some of you may already know this, but according to my brother and MHS, Austin Childress, a student there, and his family had their house broken into over the weekend. Somehow, Austin was shot and is in pretty bad condition at the Scott and White in Temple, I think. I heard that he probably won't be able to move his right arm permanently or play sports. Please pray for him, his family, and healing.

	03/03/2005	Mrs Liz is talking normally again (a couple weeks ago she could hardly whisper), She is eating normal food again (which she hasn't done in a few months), and she is getting up out of bed!!!! The Lord sure is working though her. About a month and a half ago she was on her death bed. Now she is ciming back to life again. It just proves that God does hear our prayers and that he is the True God!!!!! Thanks for All you prayers and contiue to pray that she will come back home again. Anna
	03/12/2005	Mrs. Liz is SO MUCH BETTER we actually got to see her sitting outside in a wheelchair watching her kids play as she visited at her home today. She is supposed to come home in about a week. She was eating a sandwhich and was feeding her 2 youngest kids. Suprisingly enough her 2 youngest remembered her and her baby actually snuggled with her.

well, i talked with my friend online the other day, and it seems like he is questioning things (he's not christian), and so this may be a good thing. Please pray that he might come to know the Lord, or that while talking to him, a seed was planted. Thanks! also..i'm doing HORRIBLY in geometry. Today, while Jessica and her friend were hanging out at the mall, two girls stole her purse with a couple of her valuable Christmas gifts, like her digital camera, and she also had her school ID with her. The accomplice actually took a picture with Jes and her friend in the photo booth! Needless to say, the security guards caught her, but have not recovered her purse or the girl who actually took it, but they do have a good lead. Please pray for the two girls because I think they have both been in juvy, but the one who stole the purse is not a minor anymore so she would go to jail.

	02/11/2005	Well, after a conversation with the detective in charge of the case, even though we know where the thief is and that she did steal it, he will not be going after her for probably about a month because he has other things that he has to do first. Some of you know that my friend Trevor Haylettt was in a very bad car accident and was in a coma for 3 weeks with many in injuries. He opened his eyes and is now obeying commands. Hes on lots of pain madication so hes no fully attentive, but if he were off the pain killers he'd be in too much pain to bare. Please continue to pray.

We have a friend who has 10 kids (11 counting the foster child) who is in the hospital and REALLY sick with cancer. Please pray that God would work through her to lead others to Chrfist and that she will get better and her kids will conu=tinue to endure through this time since there dad is also gone a lot to Temple to be with their mom. The kids Names are Shekinah(17), Cassia(16), Cori (15)(foster), Destiny(14), Charity(12), Elijah(11),Micah(9), Josiah(6), Valiant(4), Jeremiah(3), and Torah(less than a year old). 	01/29/2005	She was put in Intensive Care (ICU) because of her problems breathing and having to be on a respirator. She was off of the respirator long enough that they decided she would be okay in her own Private Room. AN ANSWER TO PRAYER!!!! But then she had to go back to ICU becasue she still had problems breathing and had to be put back on a respirator.
	02/08/2005	She is still in ICU. The doctors hope to take her off the respirator in a few days. Other than that everything is the same. The 5th and 6th graders wrote letters to her husband and we hope to give them to him soon. Thanks for all the prayers and continue to pray for them. Also some of the boys birthdays are this month and they are sad their mom can't be with them but they know she will be out soon. Please pray for Ken Keil's older brother, Don. He is in the hospital and they are not sure if he's going to make it. He had pneumonia that developed blood clots in his lungs, and now his heart is having problems.
